Screen Shot 2014-07-30 at 9.30.00 PMCut out two neck bands.

IMG_8803Apply fusible interfacing to upper side of band.

IMG_8804Sew center back seam of upper band and lower band.

IMG_8805Pin bands right sides together.

IMG_8806Sew neckline seam. Trim and snip center front, just to stitch.

IMG_8807Clip into curves.

IMG_8808Serge inner band’s lower edge. Under-stitch: finger press seam allowance toward inner band, and stitch close to seam on inner band.

IMG_8809Under-stitching helps the inner neckband lay flat against the wrong side and creates a neat turned edge.

IMG_8811Press the neckline seam. Sew the upper interfaced edge, right sides together, to garment. Pin or baste inner neckband in place. Topstitch or stitch-in-the-ditch from the front side, catching the lower serged edge of inner band.

Happy Sewing!
